My Tribute to Grandpa #2

As another tribute to my Great Grandfather, here is his 2nd favorite game show, The Price is Right with Bob Barker. By the time Carey started, he pretty much lost interest in the show. Not due to Barker's behavoir, just due to, he didn't want to watch it. But he loved it in the 80's as well. Here is a 1983 episode.

To the man who beat me in a mercy fight (where you interlock fingers and try to bend the others back) in September, to the guy who still lifted weights, and a cool 97 year old, I bid farewell, and will miss you in 2012. R.I.P. Sorry I can't attend your funeral tomorrow, but I'm glad I visited you when it mattered most.

My Tribute to Grandpa #1

My Great Grandfather Lawrence Lemmon passed away this morning at the age of 97. That is a picture of him at a Museum in Idaho. I got to see him over Labor Day Weekend.

He rarely watched TV, but he did have a few favorite shows. His favorite Game Show was Wheel of Fortune  in his honor, here is a 1986 episode.

I also take great comfort he is with family who passed on. His wife Lillie and his Son Gene, who died within a year of each other in the late 90's.

A Lot of Crap

Well, I have had better days for sure. This one I found out first. GSN is changing it's schedule in January. Starting January 23rd First, the ever popular Saturday night winners, Karn and O'Hurley on Family Feud will get Monday nights, with Karn at 7:00pm-9:30pm, and O'Hurley at 9:30pm-12:00am. OK. Tuesdays-Thursdays. Fridays,

Will now feature Karn Feud at 2:00pm, 3 hours of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader 3:00pm. I can live with that. Then after that, I'm changing the channel. At 6:00pm-4:00am, is Dancing with the Stars. Yeah, I will not be watching. I absolutely hate this show with a passion, and now they're running it to hell. Freakin wow. On Saturday nights, it airs again from 6:00pm-4:00am. Yay, I no longer have to worry about Saturday night TV. At least last years Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! is on. Sometimes I hang with friends, so I don't have to worry if I'm DVRing something. Hey, I'll be dancing when the show premieres.

And it takes over 1:00pm-6:00pm on Sundays. Flashback Fridays are gone, which is now The $100,000 Pyramid for 5 hours.

After Christmas Pick

Here's a special 1984 episode of The Price is Right from Christmastime. This features something funny that happened, but what. This was also Johnny Olson's last Christmas.

Enjoy. BTW, I didn't upload this.

Online Pick of the Week (12/24) - Christmas Card Sharks

I have 2 episodes of Christmas Card Sharks for my online pick. The first episode is a Rafferty Christmas episode from December 1986. The episode features 10 Santa Clauses

The second one is an episode from Christmas 1978 (Which probably will be seen on GSN), which features a funny contestant Jorge from the Christmas 1978. He's hilarious. I love him. I enjoy seeing his run on Christmastime. Love him.

Merry Christmas. Card Sharks, My Online Picks of the Week

Moving On to Something Different

Well, Million Dollar Mondays just haven't worked out. So their gone. Apparently there are a lot of changes. Mondays will now be GSN original marathons.

All times 7:00pm-12:00am

Monday December 19th, Lingo (Engvall)
Monday December 26th, Chain Reacton
Monday January 2nd, Whammy!
Monday January 9th, Lingo (Woolery)
Monday January 16th, Catch-21

Also the Flashback Friday block is gone. Instead on those Friday nights, beginning December 23rd is The $100,000 Pyramid from 7:00pm-12:00am, at least til January 20th. So The $25,000 Pyramid is dead, almost.

Online Pick of the Week (12/18) - Family Feud Dawson Christmas

It's Christmas time, and I have a busy schedule, so my pick is a Christmas 1977 episode of Family Feud with Richard Dawson. Jones vs. Moya, almost aired every Christmas on GSN, but they only cover 1980-1981. They'll be airing Christmas 1980 episodes this week.

Online Pick of the Week (12/11) - The Price is Right, 1982

Today is Bob Barker's birthday. While he is probably one of the biggest jerks out there in the world, he was one awesome Game Show Host. This episode comes from November 1982 (and features the models in Christmas outfits), and features 2 moments. One contestant has an interesting Come on Down, and another one, can't keep anything in her mouth :)

Happy birthday Bob. The Price is Right, My Online Pick of the Week

A Huge Loss

This week, we lost an entertainment legend.

Harry Morgan, known for Dragnet and Colonel Potter on M*A*S*H passed away on Wednseday at the age of 96.

I've probably best known him for M*A*S*H which he played Colonel Sherman Potter from 1975-1983. I was just watching a few episodes. A personal favorite episode is his debut as Colonel Potter. Radar was attempting to get a tan, and Potter pulls up in the Jeep and keeps honking his horn. Radar says "Stick That Horn in Your Ear." He reveals to Radar that he's Colonel Potter who was to arrive to take over for Major Frank Burns (Larry Linville), who took over for Colonel Henry Blake (McLean Stevenson). Another favorite is A Night at Rosie's, where everyone goes to the bar, and even Potter himself.

Another favorite episode was the Season 3 premiere. He played the role of General Bartford Hamilton Steele (3 e's not all in a row!). It was interesting seeing both M*A*S*H colonels together. One of my favorites.

A Change Reaction

Comments from a GSN board conversation:

A poster:
But probably for just 3 more months.
You are just eagerly awaiting for the Pyramid series to disappear. Well, if you don't like it, that's OK, different strokes for different folks

Has anybody given thought that they might put 25K on a daily weeknight slot once DWTS debuts? Doubt it, but hey, they gave older shows a Friday night block. And they might pick up a different season of both versions. It's not out of the question.

Oh, and Buzzerblog confirmed Alfosno and Chuck replace poker.

Another poster:
Is that what they're showing now?
Yes. They're showing the 1987-1988 season. Fans of The $100,000 Pyramid might not have seen it for a while. It will be good for that show.

Poster #3
As far as Pyramid at 10:30 AM goes, I have to ask... who cares if it's 25k or 100k? IT'S THE SAME SHOW! Same host, same set, same everything. Plus, 100k hasn't been beaten into the ground yet the same way 25k has. I mean, is someone going to tune in at 10:30 and say "Where did 25,000 Pyramid go? I love that show! Well, I can't watch this. It's 100,000 Pyramid! I hate that show!"?
I agree. The normal morning viewer won't notice a huge difference.

Same Poster as above:
However, I agree with everyone that the Pyramid hour should have remained at at 2 am, with Jeopardy at 1:30.

I agree

Monday, December 5, 2011

I'll take Shows that are disappearing for $600 - "Things a GSN boardie would say"

GSN usually likes to make changes to its schedule, especially in January. Here are the changes

High Stakes Poker gains..... It's eviction at 3:00am. Replacing it? Well it doesn't sy but I assume it will be Catch-21 and Woolery Lingo. No surprise there.

That was seen from 30 miles away. But here's one I never saw coming. Chain Reaction dies. Yes, it's gone. Over the summer I watched it a little bit, and came to like it a little bit. But I never really got thy change of heart like I did with Karn Feud. Woolery Lingo replaces its 3:30pm slot (all 7 days). If you are sad to see Todd sign off on weekend mornings waiting until the afternoon to see him again, Whammy! goes to weekends at 10:00am

Well, one that we knew could happen, The $25,000 Pyramid leaves (except for Friday nights, and that might not last so I consider it a goner). Replacing it The $100,000 Pyramid at 10:30am, and Jeopardy! at 2:00am. Um hooray!?!?! I don't mind seeing 100K in daytime (in fact I like it better), but I'll miss 25K, especially if it is a winner for Friday nights. Then again, Chain Reaction is also gone. I don't mind Jeopardy!, but I'd rather have another 1/2 hour of Dick Clark.

Online Pick of the Week (12/4) - As High As You Can Go

For this week, I feature, The Chameleons Song, As High As You Can Go. I think it also implies reach your full potential. Good song IMO. Enjoy.

Almost Legal, GSN at 17

Today is a special day, today is the day GSN turns 17.

•Game Show Network launched in December 1994, Game Show Network launched and started with Match Game 73. The network also aired other favorites such as Family Feud, Tattletales, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, Password Plus, the Bob Eubanks edition of Card Sharks, The Newlywed Game, What's My Line, I've Got a Secret, and many others.

•In March 1996, they acquired the Jim Perry edition of Card Sharks. Later that year they acquired the Bill Rafferty versions of Card Sharks, and Blockbusters. But this whas a big year beacuse in December of this year because they acquired the Bob Barker, Tom Kennedy, and Bill Cullen versions of The Price is Right.

•In October 1997, the Goodson/Todman library said goombye. The 1994 Dawson version of Family Feud and The Price is Right So they turned to Sony. They aired shows such as the Bill Cullen version of Chain Reaction>, Go!, Break the Bank, The Hollywood Connection, and most importantly the late 70's and 80's versions of Pyramid. In April 1998, With the exception of the Pyramid, the Sony shows left and haven't been seen since. The Goodson/Todman shows returned. The Price is Right contract expired in April 2000.

•In 2001, GSN acquired Press Your Luck and Let's Make a Deal .

•In 2002, GSN went on an originals craze with Whammy!, Russian Roulette, Friend or Foe? and Lingo. In October 2003 Who Wants To Be a
Millionaire
began to air.

•In 2004, GSN took a different view. Shows like Blackjack, Kenny vs. Spenny, and Spy TV began to air.

•The 2004 plan didn't work so in April 2005, Password Plus, Rafferty's  Blockbusters and Card Sharks and other old favorites returned. Throughout the next 4 years othrer favorites returned and got some air time.

•In 2009, the G-T shows left again, except Match Game, Password, and Family Feud. The Pyramid series returned. Older shows kind of died out. Although they've made a little but of a comeback. With Card Sharks returning. They've also acquired shows such as Deal or No Deal, 1 vs. 100, and others. Many originals have also been produced too.

Happy birthday GSN.

Online Pick of the Week (11/27) - GSN Montage 1996

This week, GSN turns 17. So this week's online pick will feature a good memory of the good ol days. This features a montage of various promos back from 1996, featuring various things. Oh, this might make people think they're in heaven. Enjoy it. It features a couple jingles for 2 game show panelists.

I actually remember this watching the day both of those panelists died (or pretty close!) Scary yes.

I Love a Parade

Happy Thanksgiving. While I wait for dinner, I've watched a little bit of Deal or No Deal, a full week with Anson Williams on an old tape of Match Game 74, and Rugrats.

Now I'm watching the Macy's Parade on NBC. It's the 85th year for the parade. I love the floats and the marching band. Many great performances too. Just saw a Spiderman dance thing. Loved that. Next is the Rockettes. Love this thing, and Al Roker does an amazing job. Can't wait to see more

Happy Thanksgiving

Head for the Hillz!!!!!!1

Here's a board conversation in response to GSN's recent acquisition of Dancing With the Stars

A poster:
It is very sad to have to see this in pure black and white now. I never would post inaccurate/false information. I'm sorry everyone didn't see this coming or believe me a month back. All I can say is, Friday Night Classics better do well!!!

I never believed, and I still don't believe your theory.

Dancing With the Stars doesn't mean the demise of older shows. Maybe on Friday nights, but not totally.

GSN Word of Wisdom No. 12
12) A game show, by its dictionary defintion, is “a television program on which contestants compete for prizes in a game or a quiz.”*By fulfilling this definition, ALL competitive reality shows are game shows, whether you like them or not. On the other hand, Love Connection*is not (its citation in The Encyclopedia of TV Game Shows*notwithstanding).

Another poster, commented on Buzzerblog's post:
DWTS has competition (important element of most game shows) to win a prize (another important element of most game shows). It even takes place in a conventional studio setting. DWTS is much more of a game show

It does fall under the Game Show Category. Like it or not.

Yet another poster
When these schedule shake-ups happen, I think we'll be more accurately be able to tell whether gloom and doom is on its way or not
Agreed

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

Everyone, DANCE OFF!!!

GSN just made an acquisition. Recent Wheel of Fortune? Harvey Family Feud? Nope. Dancing With the Stars. A few GSN board notes.

A poster
I have a feeling those weeknight blocks (Million Dollar Mondays, Flashback Fridays, etc.) will be done by the time 2012 comes around. They're probably doing this just as a filler until they pick up something to fill those slots,
Had a feeling they were temporary, and Dancing With the Stars will probably receive a nice Primetime slot. Of course they're fillers.

and I have a feeling DWTS is likely a show GSN will do well with.
Oh, it probably will, it's widely popular.

Another poster
How long will it be til an espiode is shown on gsn for a 2nd time? maybe 4 hours cause you know they'll repeat it to death

Oh, like with Who Wants To Be a Millionaire and Deal or No Deal, DWTS will start with humble beginnings, 2 a day, then eventually expand and be all over the schedule. So yeah, it's gonna be "Rerun Abused"

A Third Poster
I still don't have much interest in going back and watching old reruns.
I don't like the show period.

I would've loved to see Harvey Feud, or Wheel of Fortune, but this is probably gonna be good for ratings.

Aaaaaaaaaaand complaints that GSN will get several season of a talent competition but rerun the same season of Classics in 3...2...1......
I don't complain, I just long to see something else. But the seasons of DWTS have 11-15 episodes each, so there's about 100 episodes. Match Game's curren lease has 400. Perry's Card Sharks has about double that lease.

Online Pick of the Week (11/20) - Family Feud (Dawson) International Beauties

Well, today is a very special day. Richard Dawson, the original host Family Feud turns 79 today. In honor of that this weeks pick is an episode of Dawson Feud. However with Thanksgiving coming up this week, we need to focus on gratitude, so it's an episode in GSN's lease.

But it's a good one. This is an International Beauties episode. Miss USA vs. Miss Universe from 1981. This aired on Friday during Flashback Fridays. It's a good episode. Who will win, the natives, or the foreigners :). Watch to see.

Oh, and Happy Birthday Richard, one of my favorite Feud hosts and Match Game panelist, when he enjoyed being there on the shows.

Family Feud international beauties, my online pick of the week. Happy Thanksgiving BTW.

Longing For a Return

Here's another convo from the boards

A Poster:
So, I have a question here that I think we all want an answer to.

Why were game shows like Greed, Twenty-One, Weakest Link, That's The Question, etc. removed from the GSN schedule line-up in early 2009?

Was it all because of ... what was that woman's name... Kelly Goode ... that's it...?

Were these shows performing THAT poorly in ratings, that GSN just decided to cut them off altogether?

Or was it that GSN lost the rights to airing them?

And why did it specifically happen at the end of March 2009, instead of, let's say, November 2010 or June 2011? What was so special about that date on the calendar?

Is it possible GSN will start airing them again, considering they've been off the schedule for ALMOST 3 YEARS now?

Another Poster:
I honestly think that a certain someone (who is no longer with the network but whose initials are KG), allowed that lease to expire, because it wasn't in the fake reality and Alley Cat garbage vein that she wanted to go in. Clearly, Carnie's little medical docudrama and Drew's not-ready-for-Whose-Line improv act were not the future (well, duh!), considering that this is a game show network with a core audience who prefers that genre. And we are going to see the ramifications of her choices for a while.

All of the shows you listed were removed during somewhat big changes:

Greed left in September 2008, when Bingo America debuted, Greed was pretty much a dead horse being beat.

That's the Question left in January 2009, when shows like Tic Tac Dough, and Now You See it left and changed out for Match Game 74 and Eubanks Card Sharks were added to weekdays.

Twenty-One left in January 2009, after being on for 2 years, I think the rights expired. Of course it had weekend late nights.

Both versions of Weakest Link left when Deal or No Deal debuted. Russian Roulette and Monty's Let's Make a Deal left at this time too. However a Halloween episode aired in October 2009.

A 3rd Poster
What GSN needs right now is the addition of more classics. Match Game, $25,000-$100,000 Pyramid, Card Sharks and Dawson Family Feud aren't enough. GSN has enough money right now to buy or lease more episodes of all those shows, plus bring back more classics like Love Connection, Blockbusters etc. on weekdays.

The only show I would love to see back is Password Plus. If they brought that back I would be a happy man. Of course Russian Roulette would make me happy too.

Speaking of older shows, just caught a glimpse of some Flashback Fridays. Caught the end of the 7:30pm episode of Match Game 74. I have this episode in my archives. Doesn't bother me. I enjoyed seeing it again. Also caught a glimpse of The $25,000 Pyramid with Bill Cullen as a guest. Probably have this too, but still good to see. I DVRed Dawson Family Feud and The $100,000 Pyramid. Loved them. Good to see them somewhere other than mornings or Latenights. For those that whimper and whine about the schedule, look at it. Please

Possible Change of Plans

The online schedule rolls over another day. And it shows changes for Saturday the 26th

11:30am - The Newlywed Game (Replaces Catch-21)
6:00pm - Family Feud (Karn) (Replaces Deal or No Deal)
6:30pm - Family Feud (Karn) (Replaces Engvall Lingo)
9:00pm - Family Feud (O'Hurley)(Replaces Karn Feud)
12:00am - The Newlywed Game (Replaces Poker)
12:30am - The Newlywed Game (Replaces Poker)
1:00am - The Newlywed Game (Replaces Poker)
1:30am - Baggage (Replaces Poker)
2:00am - Baggage (Replaces Poker)
2:30am - Baggage (Replaces Poker)
3:00am - High Stakes Poker (Replaces Catch-21/Woolery Lingo)

My opinions BRACE YOURSELVES

Well, Catch-21 could end up being gone soon. Odd seeing it ejected from weekends.
More Karn. OK, how bout some O'Hurley.
More Jerry/Sherri? Well good thing I'm asleep
Poker being cut down? Good.
Wonder what Sunday brings us?

Also looks like the Weekend Feud marathons are not happening. Of course that Feud change could be the marathon. I don't think so though. I wonder what Sunday brings us. Hopefully the Million Dollar latenight block on Sundays remain. We'll find out tomorrow.

Feudin' Around the Christmas Tree (Plus 78 Sharks)

Well we're approaching the end of the year. So, that means Christmas is coming up. So for Christmas, there will be GSN marathons. Let's look at them:

For Flashback Friday's the one old show on the network that doesn't get Friday Night exposure Card Sharks with Jim Perry will air for Flashback Fridays. Nice. I love the 1978 Christmas episodes with Jorge. He cracks me up. Can't wait to see.

For Christmas Eve, it's Family Feud with Richard Karn and John O'Hurley. Oh well.

If you can wait a day, on Christmas Day Family Feud with Richard Dawson. Who said older shows are dying on GSN.

Also, Black and White Overnight hangs around for the week of December 19th.

Once again, you can't say GSN doesn't care about older shows. Look at what's happening with the schedule.

And Million Dollar Mondays REMAIN

Online Pick of the Week (11/13) - Weird Newscasters

Before Improv-A-Ganza infected GSN, the only Drew Carey Improv thing we had was Whose Line is it Anyway. My favorite act, Weird Newscasters. Thisnone features Colin Mochrie, Chip Esten (who does a Christopher Walken impersonation), Wayne Brady (Britney-Christina), and Ryan Stiles on weather. This was a funny one. Enjoy Weird Newscasters my Online Pick of the Week

How Soon I Forget

I will rewind to a time in my life. Late February 2007. I get back from a fire station tour. My mother introduced me to a new game show on FOX that evening. It was titled
Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader. I watched, thought it was weird. Watches it again, and enjoyed it. I got home at the end of the 10:00pm episode and am watching the 11:00pm episode. I forgot how much I enjoyed the network episodes. I never cared for the syndicated version. Glad to see it again. If I'm around next Sunday, I'll watch. Now I'll enjoy Million Dolla Mondays tomorrow. Hopefully not the last time I can enjoy that.

Looking Back - The $100,000 Pyramid

Finally, almost there. The last thing of the Flashback Friday Salute which begins tonight.

We bring you to The $100,000 Pyramid. The nighttime version of Pyramid.

Here is a September 1985 episode with Markie Post and Charlie Siebert and Jack Clark announcing.

Here's the Flashback Friday lineup

7:00pm - Match Game 74
8:00pm - The $25,000 Pyramid
9:00pm - Card Sharks (Eubanks)
10:00pm - Family Feud (Dawson)
11:00pm - The $100,000 Pyramid

Enjoy it, starts tonight.

Jim Beats Them All

Happy 11/11/11. It's 11:11am PST. Recently there was a thread about your favorite Card Sharks hosts. Guess who it is :D

The Perry version. I liked the theme song. The set was amazing (the 86 set was good as well), and Jim was a very awesome host who always seemed to know what he was doing, and he always did good with the suspense of the cards.

Bill Rafferty's version is a close 2nd. I enjoyed Rafferty's hosting style, and the extra features (the car, prize cards, other surveys), and he was fun to watch.

Eubanks was OK. His hosting style wasn't the best, but it's not unwatchable. The extra features were good too.

Bullard = Suckage. Sorry Pat, good guy, awful host.

Million Dollar Monday Ending and Other Worries

I was looking on the Directv guide, and it rolled over to November 21st and spotted The Newlywed Game for 5 hours on Monday night. Then later I looked over to Tuesday the 22nd and saw Baggage. The Wednesday nights are also Baggage. It appears Million Dollar Mondays are over. I'd like to be wrong. Who Wants To Be a Millionaire bombed back in September, and lasted two weeks. Looks like Regis' Monday night slot also lasted 2 weeks. Oh well, it obviously bombed, along with the other shows in that block.

Makes me wonder about Flashback Fridays. I think the Monday and Friday things were a 2 week deal. I might be jumping the gun, but who knows. I think we should wait and see, but doesn't surprise me. Amy Introcaso-Davis is now at GSN, and at Oxygen she increased original programming by 83%. Maybe she's doing that now.

UPDATE: Flashback Fridays Appear to survive according to Directv. Tomorrow we find out if Million Dollar Mondays survive.

Looking Back - Family Feud The Richard Dawson Years

Family Feud has plenty great spots. Except Dawson. So in my 5 day Flashback Picks, we go to the 10:00pm hour. This shown finally airing somewhere other than 9:00am, with that marathon coming up.

Yes, they're starting with 1981, so we'll look somewhere else.

How ' bout 1979? Sounds good. Blower vs. Odhe from 1979. Who will win. Watch.

And watch Family Feud with Richard Dawson at 10:00pm on Flashback Fridays.

Wednesday, November 9, 2011

Looking Back - Card Sharks, The Bob Eubanks Years

prefer Perry over Eubanks, but GSN chose to air the Eubanks version on Flashback Fridays. Oh well, no big deal. So, GSN will start with the January 1986 premiere. Well, as I did with the other 2 shows, I'll outside the lease.

Here is an October 1986 episode. No i did not screw you over, this is the 3rd episode featuring the car game, which GSN hasn't shown since June 2007. Will it be won on this episode, wait and see. Watch Card Sharks on Flashback Fridays at 9:00pm ET. If you want Perry, check 10:00am and 3:30am

Online Pick of the Week (11/6) - Blockbloopers

Hi. I love Bill Cullen's Blockbusters very much. They say no one's perfect, and Bill Cullen is no exception. Blockbloopers. Poor Bill sometimes screwed up, an sometimes funny stuff happened. Enjoy this clip montage of Bill Cullen's Blockbuster Bloopers.

Blockbloopers my Online Pick of the Week.

Deal or Are You Smarter Than a Feud

Cheesey title. Oh well, looks like GSN has their marathons chosen for Thanksgiving weekend. On Thanksgiving day from 8am-12am is Deal or No Deal. 16 hours. Wow. On Black Friday from 8am-7pm is Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader. On Saturday 26th, From 9am-12am, 15 hours of Karn and O'Hurley Family Feud. Want to see more Feud, tune in Sunday the 27th from 9am-7pm for Family Feud with Richard Dawson. Sounds OK to me, I will tune in here for some episodes.

Holiday Treat

I sometimes have to dispel rumors. To those who think GSN is becoming a huge pile of crap, need to look at what's going on. On December 12, at 3:00am ET, What's My Line? followed by I've Got A Secret at least for that week. I think you know what to expect. Last years episodes? Wrong.

Looking Back - The $25,000 Pyramid

Continuing this madness, we look at the 8:00pm show, The $25,000 Pyramid. The show gains an hour on Flashback Fridays at 8:00pm. Yes it will be the 1985-1986 range of episodes. So we'll look into a different era.

Let's go back September 24, 1982, the Friday episode of premiere week. Celebrities are Robert Mandan and Constance McCashin. How will this go? Watch and find out, and watch Flashback Fridays on GSN at 7pm ET

Looking Back - Match Game

I figured with Flashback Fridays debuting on Friday, we'd look at the shows they're airing in that block. We'll start today with the 7:00pm show, Match Game.

It will be the '74 episodes, AGAIN! But on my blog we'll explore the other realm of Match Game. This is the link to the first part of an episode of a 1977 episode with Abe Burrows, BS, CNR, Rosemary Forsyth, RD, BW. It is a good one, and it is a Game Show Network Broadcast. Enjoy.

Keep on Rollin

While GSN boardies complain about not having Match Game 76, I complain about something else. Barley any existing episodes of High Rollers. Practically no 1974 episodes exist. On't a couple and they haven't been seen ever. Only a few 1978-1980 episodes exist. Debuting on April 24, 1978 (familiar date) on NBC (no I'm not talking about that) this fun dice game was a blast. In the game you rolled a dice to take numbers 1-9 on a board. By clearing a column, you won prizes. It was a best 2 out of 3 match. The winner got to play Big Numbers clearing numbers on a board for more prizes. Rolling doubles got you an insurance marker. If you rolled a number that could not be cleared, that was it.

Unfortatley only a few episodes exist, including a 1978 episode, a couple 1979 episodes, and a couple 1980 episodes, including the finale.

The show lasted until June 20, 1980. It was revived in 1987 with Wink Martindale. I never cared for Wink's revival, just way too many mini games. Shame little of the Trebek episodes exist.

Running a Marathon

According to Buzzerblog's Twitter, on Sunday November 27th, GSN is airing a Richard Dawson Family Feud. That's right, Dawson. I don't what they'll be airing episode wise. Here's what I would love to see.

*Premiere
*First Time I've Ever Gotten Aroused
*Alligator Episode
*1,000th Episode
*September
*Dawson's Birthday
*Richard Meets Gretchen
*Finale

That's what I'd like to see.

Gone Again

Well, I've never really watched 60 Minutes that much. As a matter of fact I haven't watched it since February 2008. But I learned this morning that commentator Andy Rooney who stepped down last month passed away last night. He started at CBS in 1949 writing for Arthur Godfrey. His segment started as a replacement thing in the Summer of 1978. In 1994 he said some things about Kurt Cobain after his suicide, saying it overshadowed Nixon's death. He said other controversial things in his tenure. He stepped down in Fall of 2011.
