I've never liked cats. They're a nuisance, and they're awful pets. However, the only cats I like are the animated ones that live in a dirty New York City Alley. I'm talking about the old Hanna-Barbera Classic Top Cat. Started in 1961 and ended in 1962 after 1 season. You'd think it wouldn't have had any affect, and would be widely forgotten, and well, it kind of is, however it has been rerun on Boomerang/Cartoon Network for awhile.
The story is about a gang of cats, with their leader, Top Cat or T.C. as he is commonly referred to. Other cats in this group are Choo-Choo, Spook, Fancy, Brain, and his close friend, Benny the Ball. T.C. is always looking for schemes to make money, and will usually stop at nothing. However, the police officer, Officer Dibble is always on to him and the gang making sure they don't cause trouble. Usually there's some criminal they catch, they get the reward, and it goes back to the police station.
I don't know why, but I enjoy it very much, one of my favorite cartoons. Don't know why, but it is. One of the classic episodes is The Maharajah of Pookajea. It's usually the episode aired a lot in reruns, or on DVD selections. One of my personal favorites is T.C.Minds the Baby where they find an abandoned baby. That's always been one of my favorites.
